Chinese Whispers.
My Parents are of Chinese heritage but born outside mainland China. They hadn't been back to visit the mainland for most of their adult life so as we were growing up we would always hear stories of how things were back in the mainland- the culture, values, traditions, the ways of doing things. These stories had been passed down to them by their parents and then to us by our parents, it formulated preconceptions of a land that essentially we knew not much about. This photographic journey is how I saw China on my first two visits. It is not the same as what we all knew.
